OUR PROJECTS

SustAInable

  • Our pilot project is being developed in partnership with Howell Conservation Fund, Sacred Heart, and science professor Alyson Tockstein, to teach several dozen students prompt engineering, tech ethics, and science communication. The project culminates in a curriculum that can scale to additional classrooms, and a sustainability chatbot that helps students understand what actions they can take to improve their health and the health of our planet.es here

iDream

  • In iDream, a group of high school friends are confronting an uncertain future: what to do after graduation, whether they should go to college, how they would make that happen, and what they might study. They are encouraged by their dynamic teacher-turned-guidance counselor who has her own backstory about working in the high tech world. She helps them to explore the possibilities of STEM careers. Interactive episodes enable viewer engagement with the characters as they begin to discover their places in the world even as they struggle with the obstacles – personal, family and academic – that might prevent them from achieving their dreams. Along the way, they meet STEM stars, past and present!oes here

  • We are diving into the topic of bias in online digital spaces, specifically focusing on information related to sustainability and health. Our research observes how biases can come into the data we find online whether that’s due to the way algorithms are built, what users post, or how data is collected. We want to understand how these biases affect the information we receive and how it influences our choices on environment and health. By delving deeper into these issues, we hope to find ways to reduce bias in these online platforms, ensuring that the information available is fair, accurate, and helpful for everyone.es here
